The popular dance show Let’s Dance is approaching its grand finale, and Markíza has already prepared what will come after it. A significant change awaits Sunday evenings. The broadcaster has revealed what titles will replace one of its biggest hits of the season.
Every TV viewer is aware of it, even if they don’t want to admit it, but even the most popular shows, series or movies have an end.
It doesn’t matter how strong of a fan base they have, at some point their broadcast will end and viewers have to say goodbye to them.
This also applies to big TV shows, which are among the main attractions of the programs. Slovak television traditionally bases its offer on the two strongest periods – spring and autumn. This year they started extremely intensively.
Markíza put on the third series of The Promise, the continuation of Dunaj, at your service and also the final series of The Professor. JOJka responded with her own Osud news.
Entertainment formats also maintain a stable position. Markíza again bet on Ruža pre nevesta and Let’s Dance, while JOJka bet on Dobre vynat, a new version of Milujem Slovensko and the popular show Mama, marry me.
However, spring has a clearly defined time in the television world. The program structure usually closes in mid-June, followed by a summer season full of films and reruns. And at this very moment, one of the most outstanding shows of the season is coming to an end – Let’s Dance.
Markíza confirmed that the final of the current year will take place on Sunday, May 10. That’s when the winner of the 11th season, subtitled Best of the Best, will be decided. The competition has already narrowed significantly and Nela Pocisková and Filip Kucman were eliminated last, which means that only five couples remain in the game: Kristián Baran and Eliška Lenčešová, Jakub Jablonský and Anna Riebauerová, Zuzana Porubjaková and Matyáš Adamac, Ján Koleník and Dominika Rošková and Gabriela Marcinková and Jaroslav Ihring.
The tension thus grows and the competition reaches its most intense phase.
The eighth round should bring strong emotions, distinctive choreography and performances, where the details will decide. In addition to classic ballroom dances, the audience will also be treated to contemporary numbers, which often show the contestants in a completely different light.
Since the end of the show is already in sight, television also had to solve the question of what comes after it. From Sunday, May 17, the evening program will change.
As PR manager Lukáš Kočišek revealed exclusively to Mediaklik.sk, “after the end of Let’s Dance, we will bring proven film hits such as Anna, What Men Want, 57 Seconds or The Merciless Avenger on Sunday evenings, but also attractive premiere titles such as Klan Gucci or Twisters.”
Thus, television is switching to a traditional summer model, in which mainly films will be given space. Although the audience will lose the live show, Sunday evenings will remain strong in terms of programming.
For now, a question mark hangs over what will happen to Let’s Dance next year. The television has not officially announced anything yet. But what is certain is that the current series has set the bar high, and if the show returns, it will have to offer an even stronger concept to keep viewers’ attention.
