“The performance was not good,” said Fram player Hulda Dagsdóttir in an interview with mbl.is after the team was eliminated in the semi-finals against Val at the Íslandsmótin in handball. Valur won the duel 3:0.
Tonight’s game was even from the start, but in the 5:5 situation, Valur scored four goals in a row and kept the lead after that.
“I thought we gave up too soon. We had a good stretch at the end but by then it was too late. These last two games are not what we planned. It’s been up and down all winter.”
The whole first game was played, but he lost it in the end.
“I thought it was really disappointing and it felt like they stole it from us. We needed that win in the first game to give us a boost. I’m gutted.”
Forwards are used to the team being in the top flight, but the season this winter was more difficult.
“It’s been like a roller coaster. We were winning and losing alternately. I didn’t exactly have expectations for the season, but I was ready for everything. I joined the team last year and there aren’t many old players and suddenly I’ve become really old.”
Hulda and Fram are now on summer vacation and she doesn’t get bored.
“I’m studying and I’m just going to study. I’m also going to work and I’m going to relax. I’ll think about the future,” said Hulda.
