The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has become the father of a son for the second time.
It is known that the mayor has been approved by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and is currently traveling to Koço Gliozheni maternity hospital, where he will visit the baby and his wife.
It is learned that the permit, signed by Special Prosecutor Olsi Dado, was granted for 48 hours.
The couple are also parents to a son, Kajan, who was born in October 2018.
Veliaj has been in prison since February 10, 2025.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office has filed a series of charges against him, including passive corruption in several cases, money laundering, failure to declare assets, abuse of office and bringing prohibited items into prison.
