Ausage shares that even though his father is no longer here, he continues to be a major influence in his life. “He is the central reason for my choice of career path,” he said.
Ausage Junior also acknowledged and thanked his mother, afioga Muliagatele Salā Silia Lauano, who is a long serving academic and lecturer at the National University of Samoa.
“And I would also like to acknowledge everyone who has helped me to achieve this milestone, and also my family members who traveled from Samoa to share this moment with me.”

To her son she says, “Your name remains a living legacy of your father… he would have been so proud of the man you have become..
“If only he was here to witness you walk across that stage..”

“Through all the challenges and the late-night studies, you persevered and attained success..
“We are so proud of you, son.”
Muliagatele acknowledged the support of family members, with special mention of Ausage’s uncle, Lauano Tauti Lui Lauano, as well as relatives and friends in New Zealand and Samoa, who stood by Ausage throughout his studies.
