The Agency for Public Information (API), has congratulated one of its staffers Yinka Chambers, on her submission, “Union Island Culture,” which won an award at the Caribbean Broadcasting Union’s (CBU) 37th Media Awards ceremony held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 during their 51st Annual General Assembly in Guyana.
The submission was adjudged Best Entertainment Item in the category Production Awards (Digital), highlighting the production quality and creativity while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Union Island. The API also commended Nadia Slater Acting Director of the API, for her foresight in submitting the feature for consideration.
API acknowledged its appreciation to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), a member of the CBU, for submitting the item under its auspices.
NBC itself received ‘Special Mention’ in the Advertising Awards category- Radio- for a submission “SVBLA- Turn Up the Vibes Loan”.
The API said in a release that it is pleased to see Vincentian media professionals receiving recognition at the regional level.
“We celebrate this achievement as a testament to the talent, dedication, and creativity within Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ media landscape,” it stated in its release.
“The API once again congratulates Yinca Chambers on her accomplishment and recognises everyone who contributed to the production and submission of ‘Union Island Culture’.
“Congratulations on your outstanding work in bringing Union Island’s culture and heritage to a wider audience.”
