The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday in a statement on social media that it has ended the blockade of Iranian ports.
It is stated in this statement: Today, according to the order of the President, American forces lifted the blockade of all sea traffic entering and leaving Iran’s ports and coastal areas.
“American forces do not prevent the movement of ships to or from Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf, the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. “All US military efforts to enforce the blockade have been halted.”
The US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz began on April 13, and the control of this strategic waterway was a key point of conflict during the war. Marine traffic data shows that several ships have passed through the strait.
Navy ships will remain in the general area “to ensure that all aspects of the agreement are respected and implemented with full force and power,” Centcom said in a statement.
