The Red Crescent employs the latest CPR techniques in a field response in Riyadh
The ambulance teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the city of Riyadh initiated a case of cardiac and respiratory arrest, using the latest cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, as part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to develop its ambulance services and employ the latest international medical practices in responding to critical cases.
The Authority received the report at one of the sites in the Ministries District, where the case was supported by a rapid intervention team alongside field ambulance teams, and resuscitation procedures began using an automatic chest compression device (LUCAS), in addition to a head and neck elevation device during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Head-Up CPR), which is used for the first time in the field within the Authority’s system, in a step that reflects its keenness to introduce modern technologies that contribute to enhancing the quality of emergency care before arriving at the hospital.
The use of this technology comes within an integrated system that the Authority is constantly developing, keeping pace with the latest international protocols and practices in emergency medicine, and enhancing the efficiency of ambulance teams in dealing with critical cases, by providing advanced equipment that supports the speed of response and the quality of field performance.
