The “Astronomical Phenomena” program in Jizan coincides with the peak of the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter
Today, the Jazan House of Culture organized the “Astronomical Phenomena” program, which brought together those interested in astronomy and sky observation, coinciding with the peak of the conjunction of the planets Venus and Jupiter.
The program, which was implemented by the Space and Astronomy Club at the Harf Educational Society, witnessed a follow-up to one of the most prominent astronomical phenomena that adorns the sky, as attendees were allowed to observe the apparent conjunction between the two planets using astronomical monitoring devices, in a striking visual scene that can be viewed with the naked eye after sunset.
The participants learned about the nature of the conjunction phenomenon, which occurs when the two planets appear very close from the perspective of the observer on Earth, even though the real distance separating them is millions of kilometers, in addition to introducing the importance of astronomical observation and the most prominent celestial bodies that appear on the western horizon during this period.
