Sheikh Ayman Abdel Ghani, Acting Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, approved the results of the first round of Islamic scholarship certificate exams (preparatory and secondary, both scientific and literary sections) for the academic year 2025/2026 AD, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharqawi, Acting Head of the Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, and Sheikh Hussein Saba Abdel Razek, Head of Scholarship Certificates Control.

The number of students who took the Islamic scholarship exams at various levels reached 3,656 students, including 1,543 students in the secondary certificate (literary section), 99 students in the secondary certificate (scientific section), and 2,014 students in the preparatory certificate. The success rate reached 53.14% in the literary section, 30.30% in the scientific section, and 41.86% in the preparatory certificate.
Student Abdullah Ashraf Mahmoud (Bangladesh) took first place in the literary section, with a total of 653 marks, or 84.81%. Student Aziza Bashir Ibrahim Mohamed (Somalia) came in second place, with a total of 641 marks, or 83.25%, while student Muhammad Suhail (Bangladesh) came in third place, with a total of 640 marks, or 83.12%.
Student Sarah Khalaq (Netherlands) achieved first place in the literary section with a total of 708 marks, at a rate of 91.94%. She was followed by student Salwa Muhammad Abdel Rahman (Somalia) in second place with a total of 695 marks, at a rate of 90.26%. Student Yusra Saeed Muhammad (Eritrea) came in third place with a total of 675 marks, at a rate of 87.66%.
The student, Nestiha Abdullahi Ali (Somalia), took first place in the preparatory certificate with a total of 391 marks, at a rate of 88.86%. The student, Ismail Ahmed Mohamed (Nigeria), came in second place with a total of 386 marks, at a rate of 87.73%, while the student, Othman Mohamed Ahmed (Djibouti), took third place with a total of 383 marks, at a rate of 87.05%.
Sheikh Ayman Abdul Ghani conveyed the congratulations of His Eminence the Grand Imam to the successful students, especially the first ones who represented an honorable model for Islamic scholarship students from various countries of the world, stressing that their excellence is the result of diligence and perseverance, and reflects the scientific and moderate mission that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif undertakes in caring for its expatriate children, expressing his wishes for them to have more success and excellence, and for them to continue their academic journey to be ambassadors of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in their homelands. Carrying the tolerant message of Islam and the values of moderation and peace.
