With the cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), Tatmadaw aircraft dropped seed balls in the forest reserve areas of Tatkon Township in Nay Pyi Taw and Nyaungshwe Township in Shan State yesterday.
A total of 100,000 seed balls of four types of trees, such as Flea, Albizia procera, Delonix regia and Senna siamea, were sprinkled by flight in the Hlwabon forest reserve block 15 (200 acres) in Nay Pyi Taw.
Similarly, 200,000 seed balls of three types of trees, such as Flea, Delonix regia, Senna siamea and Acacia auriculiformis, were sprinkled by aircraft in the Inlay Lake watershed area in Shan State.
Aerial seeding is a fast and cost-effective way to plant crops, enabling the cultivation of large areas with a small workforce, ensuring the possibility of using aircraft in mountainous and far-flung areas and covering vast areas within a short period of time.
The survey on the survival of plants from aerial seeding will be conducted in December 2026. — MNA/KTZH
