Young basketball players between the ages of 6 and 20 will have an opportunity to sharpen their skills and learn more about the sport when the All About Ball League (AABL) and Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) host a youth camp on Saturday, September 26.
The camp will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Massacre Indoor Sports Complex.
Organisers say the two-hour session will combine practical basketball drills with a motivational and learning component, while also introducing young players to the work of AABL.
The initiative is built around the message “skills today, opportunities tomorrow,” with the broader vision of promoting basketball as more than a game and creating opportunities for young people.
Friday, September 25, is the final day for players to register. Parents and guardians can register young participants through the player registration form.
AABL and DABA are also seeking coaches who are willing to contribute to grassroots basketball. Coaches who can dedicate two hours each week are being encouraged to get involved by helping young players develop their basketball abilities, confidence and discipline while also serving as mentors.
Coaches interested in participating can register through the coach registration form.
The organisations are encouraging families, basketball clubs and community members to spread the word and help connect young players with the opportunity.
