A new headache for Šar – a difficult victory and two more injuries before the match against Zalgiris

Shar’s men are away on Friday night 82:78 (26:21, 25:18, 16:21, 15:18) broke the “Manisa” team, but Finnish Mikael Jantunen got injured in the third quarter and immediately went to the locker room.

Turkish Onuralps Bitimas also suffered an injury in this match.

It was the last match of “Fenerbahce” before the Euroleague quarter-final series against “Zalgiris” Kaunas, which starts on Tuesday.

“Fener” started to run away from the rivals from the first minutes (16:6). Although “Manisa” was close and even overestimated the result (28:26), the visitors hit back with even greater force (67:48).

However, this did not guarantee peace to Š. Jasikevičius. His students were completely silent in the attack, lost the section 0:12, and 7 of the 19 point lead remained (67:60). “Manisa” continued to come dangerously close until they overtook the guests (74:74).

Only two accurate three-pointers by Tarik Biberovič in a row allowed Shar and the entire Fenerbahce team to relax (80:74).

The top scorer for the winners with 18 points was Devon Hall (3/5 treys, 5 rebounds). Nicolo Melli added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, Tarik Biberovic – 13 (3/6 3-pointers, 5 rebounds), Khem Birch – 11 points and 8 steals.

Erik Stevenson scored 15 points (2/10 three-pointers, 6 rebounds), Jayce Johnson – 13 points and 10 rebounds for the host Manisa team.

We will remind you that Chris Silva, another tall player of the team, was also injured in the last “Fenerbahçe” match. True, it is believed that the basketball player from Gabon will be able to play in the Euroleague playoffs.

This is Fenerbahce’s fourth consecutive victory in all competitions. Before that, Shar’s pupils had fallen into a serious hole – winning only 1 out of 8 matches.

“Žalgiris” will play in the LKL championships on Saturday before the EuroLeague quarter-final series – they will compete against “Šiauliai” on the road.
