Despite complaints of slowness in judicial processes and the black spot of the prosecutor recently accused of crossing the dangerous line of extortion, the Public Ministry seems to improve its marks in terms of performance and institutional strengthening. Even with respect to the accentuated idea of a Yeni Berenice Reynoso with a belligerent attitude and inclination towards media prominence that colleagues and members of other social sectors had, a positive turn has also been experienced. Proof: It is known that prosecutors and court attorneys – and even representatives of the political area – understand, and have expressed it privately, that as the current Attorney General of the Republic has been showing signs of unexpected maturity and good intentions, “we must support her to be successful, because the responsibilities and tasks of the position entrusted to her are a very heavy burden.” Apparently, the lady intended to leave a mark as head of the Public Ministry, managing and achieving for the institution and its members what others did not achieve in terms of working conditions and social achievements, necessary and urgent, but which remained simple aspirations. The current attorney, with a unified team that moves at its own pace, has achieved the support and collaboration of the president and different official agencies, including the Police, despite the colonel of Los Frailes not being aware of his auxiliary role. The ongoing improvement boosts the morale of the Public Ministry. Let’s see: The superior council, with the Attorney General at the head, approved the sector’s pension and retirement system; platinum medical insurance for all staff; implementation of the use of cameras in raids (to guarantee that the protocol is followed), and of bulletproof vests (the physical integrity of the prosecutors) and for which there was already a contribution from the Police); national extension of the Victims’ Advocate Office; technicalization and implementation of artificial intelligence in the institution and, as if to close with a flourish, manage (and hopefully it will be achieved) with the head of State, who raised the flag of the “independent Public Ministry”, some 80 special pensions for members of the MP who qualify, whether due to illness or age. And a truth: Yeni has been lucky in getting promoted and staying, but she has helped her with her courage and coming forward, with her risks. For the record, I also changed my perception.
