While rain is still expected in much of the country, six departments in the north and east of Paraguay remain on alert for possible “severe weather phenomena” that could be recorded in the coming hours.
Shortly after 12:07 this Wednesday, the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology issued a new alert bulletin that warns of the possibility that significant rains and storms will continue to occur in several areas of the country.
The announcement indicates that “rains and storms of varying intensity develop over the coverage area, with the probability of causing severe weather phenomena on a specific basis.”
Specifically, it speaks of “moderate to strong” rains and thunderstorms that could affect six departments: Conceptionnorth of San Pedro, Amambaycenter and northeast of President Hayescentral and southern Alto Paraguay, center and east of Anchovy.
Rains would continue tomorrow
The extended forecast indicates that rains and storms would continue tomorrow, Thursday, in much of the country, although not in central areas of the country such as Asunción and its surroundings.
