Bringing key stakeholders from across the tourism sector together on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Dominica Hotel & Tourism Association’s (DHTA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) focused on reflection of the past year to chart a progressive path forward for Dominica’s tourism industry.
Under the event theme “Innovation & Impact Driven Tourism – Shaping the Future of the Industry”, remarks were delivered by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Mr. Claudius Lestrade, and CEO/Director of Tourism at the Discover Dominica Authority, Ms. Marva Williams, shared a DHTA media release.
Both speakers highlighted the steady growth of the tourism sector and emphasized the critical importance of strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors to sustain momentum and drive innovation.
According to the release, in her address, DHTA President Ms. Kitwani Ferreira provided a comprehensive review of the Association’s performance over the past year, highlighting key achievements and initiatives undertaken to support the sector. It said that she also outlined the Association’s strategic vision for 2026–2027, focusing on establishing a clear and intentional tourism development framework, enhancing public-private sector collaboration, securing sustainable financing for tourism, addressing energy needs, and improving the overall competitiveness of the destination.
Reportedly, a major highlight of the AGM was the introduction of the newly elected Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term. The board comprises President Ms. Kitwani Ferreira, Vice President Mr. Gregor Nassief, Director of Accommodation Mrs. Avril Coipel, Director of Finance & Fundraising Mr. Delwin James, Director of Membership Mr. Hubert Winston, Director of Public Relations Ms. Jael Joseph, Director of Tourism Services Mr. Michael Eugene, Director of Related Services Ms. Alice James, and Director of Tourism/CEO of the Discover Dominica Authority Ms. Marva Williams.
The DHTA also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a resilient, innovative, and sustainable tourism industry that delivers meaningful economic and social impact for Dominica.
