PARAMARIBO — The SRD 1,000 promised by the Geerlings-Simons/Russia government for additional support for citizens in a period when pressure on purchasing power is noticeable has already been paid. The Ministry of Finance and Planning reports in a press release that the money was paid out on April 1.
The regular benefits had been paid earlier, the department indicates: on March 11, the SRD 1,800 was transferred for socially weak households, on March 17, people with disabilities received their SRD 1,800, while the following day the SRD 2,500 was paid for the AOV beneficiaries.
