PARAMARIBO — Transvaal recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over Flora in the Suriname Major League on Sunday evening. The green and white were the better team on all fronts and the victory means they remain in the race for a play-off spot.
Coach Raymond Men’s team got off to a lightning start. After only eighteen seconds, Transvaal took the lead thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Shafiek Wassenaar. The defender wanted to clear the ball, but shot it hard behind his own goalkeeper Ernesto Abena: 1-0.

Transvaal then continued to dictate the game and reached 2-0 after fifteen minutes of play. The young attacker Shafello Bonjaski was alert to a cross and tapped the ball in with control. Transvaal also went into halftime with this comfortable lead.
After the break the game pattern hardly changed. Transvaal kept control and remained dangerous. Bonjaski crowned himself the standout by scoring his second goal of the evening. After a well-organized attack, he convincingly headed in a cross from Johan Lisse: 3-0.
In extra time, Lisse also placed himself on the list of goalscorers. On a pass from Jamiro Hecbert, he completed a smooth attack and thus made the final score 4-0. With this big victory, Transvaal underlines its good form and firmly maintains its ambition to reach the play-off.
