He Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) warns about downpours for this Saturday, due to a trough and a front systeml over the Wind Channel.
He indicated that, in the morning hours, occasional increases in cloudiness will be observed, generating scattered showers and thunderstorms in provinces such as Monte Cristi, Samaná, Monte Plata, Saint ChristopherHe Greater Santo Domingo and surrounding demarcations.
While in the afternoon, these conditions will be added to those associated with the diurnal cycle, generating cloudiness with downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.
These precipitations will occur in San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Sanchez RamirezLa Vega, Monsignor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, Saint Christopher, Saint John, Azua, IndependenceBaoruco, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Elias PiñaDajabón and El Gran Santo Domingo.
“These downpours are likely to continue well into the night, decreasing by early Sunday morning,” states the Indomet weather forecast.
Therefore, the institution maintains the levels of meteorological alerts, given the risk of urban flooding, as well as flooding of rivers, streams, ravines, gusts of wind, frequent electrical storms, possible landslides and possible hailstorms.
Among the towns on alert are Monte Cristi, San Juan, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Dajabón, Santiago, Baoruco, Puerto Plata, Santiago Rodríguez, Independencia, Elías Piña, Monte Plata and Santo Domingo.

Indomet indicates that temperatures will feel hot, mainly in the afternoon, due to the east/southeast wind flow.
In it Greater Santo Domingo Minimum temperatures are expected between 22 °C and 23 °C, and maximum temperatures between 31 °C and 33 °C.
