Zumpango, Méx.- The company Atlas Insurance SA was the one to which the National Bank of Public Works and Services (Banobras) awarded the contract for Comprehensive Insurance Program Buenavista-AIFA Suburban Trainfor the period 2026-2027, for an amount of 58 million 643 thousand 054 pesos.
According to the record of failure of the national public tender LA-06-G1C-006-G1C001-N-33-2026, it is a closed multi-year contract number DAGA/048/2026, the stipulated amount of which does not consider the Value Added Tax. (VAT) and is valid from April 7, 2026 to April 6, 2027.
Among the companies that participated as bidders to secure the project for the airport terminal located in the municipality of Zumpango, in the State of Mexicothey meet Agroasemex SAGrupo Provincial SAB, Seguros Inbursa SA and Seguros Atlas SA, and it was the latter that, according to Banobras, complied with all the legal-administrative, technical and economic requirements established in the call.
The amount offered by the company Seguros Atlas SA must remain fixed during the validity of the contractual relationship, adds the ruling report, for the contract that must include a series of coverages to insure the goods and the risks associated with the transportation service that comprises 41.2 kilometers, of which are 19 km from the Buenavista terminal to the Lechería station and from there, to the AIFA terminal, are 22.2 kilometers.
The amount of the 100% insurable value is 17 thousand 855 million 627 thousand 813.88 pesos, which includes compensation in the event of death or disability of passengers, as a result of the inadequate operation of the train or any failure or imperfection in its facilities, for an amount of 1.5 million pesos, as well as coverage of funeral expenses for 40 thousand pesos, as detailed in the Technical Annex.
That same document specifies a multiple business insurance with an insured sum of 300 million pesos for fires and allied coverage, including catastrophic for completed civil works and fixed installations in general; in addition to coverage for 265 million pesos for machines, trains, wagons and cars that make up the Buenavista-AIFA Suburban Train.
Among the covered assets are also rolling transport equipment, such as 10 trains, wagons and cars, road equipment and track auxiliaries with an insured sum of 265 million pesos for rolling equipment, collision and derailment, in stay and in catastrophic risks.
Furthermore, consider civil liability crossed, that is, it covers the damages caused to each other by “the insured”, which in this case is the Buenavista-AIFA Suburban Train and the Buenavista-Cuautitlán Suburban Train, “its employees and/or officials, giving rise to the payment of a single deductible when applicable, with charge to the person responsible for the incident, referring to material damage caused to personal and real property and to people.”
