After interruptions in drinking water service were reported due to a failure in the electrical system of the Provisur treatment plant, the National Superintendency of Sanitation Services (Sunass) began supervision work in the districts of Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra, San Bartolo and Santa María del Mar.
The supply cut has affected more than 9,000 users, which has led the regulatory body, through a formal letter, to urge the Lima Potable Water and Sewage Service (Sedapal) to comply with its operational obligations.
Sunass requires Sedapal to guarantee the continuity of the service through tanker trucks or other means. In addition, it asks them to keep the population informed through clear, timely and reliable communication about distribution schedules and points, while expediting technical repairs.
According to Sunass outage system records, service restoration efforts could last up to five days.

They demand an immediate solution
In response to the emergency, Sedapal has arranged a fleet of 19 tankers to serve the affected sectors.
Simultaneously, Sunass personnel continue to verify in the field that the distribution of the resource is effective, that the repair work continues and that the information provided to the population is timely and reliable.
