The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) reported that the recently ratified chancellor Roberto Velasco Alvarez met this week with the ambassador of USA in Mexico, Ronald Johnsonto talk about different topics on the bilateral agenda.
Through social networks, the Secretariat detailed that the meeting took place at the Secretariat facilities in the Mexico City and both officials reiterated their mutual commitment to continue strengthening the cooperation and collaboration respecting the principles that guide the bilateral relationship.
The meeting, assured the SRE, was held with the objective of “bringing well-being and prosperity on both sides of the border“.

It should be noted that this is the first meeting between the new Foreign Minister Velasco Álvarez with any US official after on April 8, the full of Senate of the Republic ratified his appointment as head of the SRE and immediately made the legal protest.
