Minik Dahl Høeghthe Greenlandic star player, has decided to retire from professional handball after many years at the highest level in Scandinavia. It is a decision that comes after a long time of consideration, and Minik Dahl Høegh tells Sermitsiaq that he feels ready for the next chapter in life.
– I actually feel very good about the decision. My body is starting to tell me, and it’s time to slow down, he says and emphasizes that it has not been an easy decision, but necessary in order to be able to prioritize future projects and maintain his physical health.

The career has offered many memorable moments, and Minik Dahl Høegh looks back on them with pride.
– The victory over Argentina, my first medal with GOG, promotion with AMO, my first Champions League match and goal – as well as playing against some of the world’s best handball players. But representing Greenland on my chest will always be the greatest for me, he says proudly.
The future offers new challenges outside the handball court. Minik Dahl Høegh is involved in three companies in Qaqortoq and looks forward to spending more time on them, while keeping the door open for new sporting opportunities.
– I can’t sit still, so there is plenty to deal with. On the sporting front, we’ll have to see what comes, but I’m sure there will probably be something exciting, he says.
With his handball career behind him, Minik Dahl Høegh leaves a significant mark at both club and national team level. He has inspired many young Greenlandic handball players to dream big and shows that it is possible to go far – both nationally and internationally.
