The derby between Huesca and Zaragoza degenerated into total chaos during extra time. Sent off after receiving a second yellow card, Argentinian goalkeeper Esteban Andrada (Real Zaragoza) completely lost control and punched his Jorge Pulido (Huesca), starting an all-out brawl in the important match to stay in the second Spanish league.
Huesca took the advantage thanks to a penalty converted by Oscar Sielva in the 65th minute, after missing one at the beginning of the match.
But the match was decided in overtime. Already warned, Esteban Andrada got involved in an altercation with Jorge Pulido. A push deemed excessive by referee Damaso Arcediano earned him a second yellow card in the 98th minute and thus a logical dismissal.
Immediately after being knocked out, Esteban Andrada completely lost control. Visibly provoked, he lunged at Jorge Pulido and punched him violently in the face. A gesture that instantly triggered a general brawl between the two teams.
In the confusion, the other goalkeeper, Dani Jiménez (Huesca), also found himself involved, hitting Andrada. The match ends in total chaos, with outfield players such as Francho Serrano and Pulido forced to finish the game in goal.
The referee accurately recorded the facts in his report, and incriminating images should be given significant weight.
The sanction promised to Andrada could reach 10-12 matches of suspension, a punishment comparable to that applied in the past to German Burgos after a similar incident.
