“Through the report requests carried out from the complaint, we managed to reach the IP, with that we obtained the exact date of the creation of that account, April 4, 2023. At the time of creation, the placement of a telephone number and an address is required. Through this data, we requested reports from the telephone service, which responded today that that date. The registered account is in the name of a certain Yecika Magle Bracho Atacho”he declared.

The woman placed her address on O’Leary Street, between Manduvirá and Piribebuy, city of Asunción, but – according to official sources – it would be Venezuelan nationality. “The chip was activated on January 27, 2023 and on April 4 they created the account,” revealed lawyer Peralta Merlo.

For this reason, Peralta Merlo announced, they are going to ask the Court to require the National Police to provide official data related to that ID number in order to confirm if the number exists and if it matches the name.

He stressed that if the ID corresponds to a Paraguayan person, he or she should necessarily be a minor, but they do not rule out the possibility of being a foreigner. For this reason, they will also ask the Court to process another request for reports to Interpol, to verify nationality.

From Mitic, after the scandal of this “misinforming network” broke, they categorically denied that the Government is behind these accounts on social networks, despite the fact that in addition to attacking journalists these pages were dedicated to disseminating positive news from the Government.

The Despierta Paraguay page allocated more than G. 150 million to try to discredit critics and political opponents on Facebook and Instagram alone. 69% of the attacks on YouTube (Google) were directed at the free press, while on Meta it reached an alarming 47% of cases.

After the scandal, more than 60 posts made on social networks were deleted. In addition, today the account in “X” disappeared, but it still remains on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
