An American woman accused of plotting to kill her husband in the midst of a contentious divorce has lost a bid to have her ankle monitor removed.
However, Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson has given Lindsay Shiver permission to relocate to Thomasville Georgia, provided her parents who supervise her visits with her three children, also move with her.
Shiver’s lawyer, Owen Wells, argued that the ankle bracelet was causing bruises to her leg and hindering job prospects.
Shiver was previously restricted to residing in Alabama and was only permitted to travel to Georgia for supervised visits with her sons.
Shiver’s estranged husband, Robert, objected to the request, arguing that he feared for his life. He said her return to Georgia would cause a media circus due to the upcoming trial, resulting in embarrassment for their children.
Grant-Thompson has ordered that Shiver’s bracelet be adjusted so that it no longer causes injury to her ankle. She is also forbidden from coming within 600 feet of her husband.
Shiver was initially arrested in Abaco in July 2023 after she was accused of an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting her husband, Robert, an insurance executive. She was arrested alongside her lover, Terrence Bethel and the alleged hitman, Faron Newbold.
Their trial is scheduled to be held in July in New Providence.
Karine MacVean was the prosecutor.
