On May 8, 2025 German rapper Xatar found dead in his Cologne apartment. The public prosecutor’s office ruled out foul play, and the exact cause of death is still unknown to this day. In the NDR talk “deep and clear” he speaks Widow Farvah Hajabi (38) now about the serious loss.
«At that moment I lost everything that was me. After so many years you are just one. And especially after so many years with so many strokes of fate, mind you. That’s a slap in the face.”
“I knew something was wrong”
Farvah remembers May 8th: “On that day itself, I couldn’t reach him. That was very untypical. I knew something was wrong. Then the doorbell rang in the evening. When the doorbell rings in the evening, you know it’s the final stage.”
The couple were together for over 15 years and have five children together. Xatar’s widow didn’t change anything in the shared apartment for them. “Everything is still there, not even a salt shaker has been moved. “That gives the children security,” explains the 38-year-old.

Wife waited during prison sentence
The rapper slipped into the drug world at an early age. At 14 he started selling drugs and made contact with the mafia. In December 2009, he and his gang disguised themselves as customs investigators and robbed a gold transporter near Ludwigsburg. He was then sentenced to eight years in prison. “It was all just very hard for me at the time. But what was the alternative? Saying that we would now continue on the path without him was not an option,” says Farvah Hajabi. Xatar was released after three years due to good behavior.
