Today, the funeral ceremony will be held in honor of the former Speaker of the Assembly, Servet Pëllumbi, who passed away the day before at the age of 89.
Arkmorti will arrive at Skanderbeg Square at 09:00 and will then be placed in the lobby of the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Homages in honor of the Dove will start at 09:30 and at 12:00 the official tributes will be held.
At 12:30, the send-off ceremony will begin, while two speeches will be given. The escort will be done according to the state protocol, while the departure to the Sharra cemetery will be at 1:00 p.m.
Pëllumbi is one of the founders of the Socialist Party and former Speaker of the Assembly. He is considered one of the figures with the most integrity since the 90s.
Servet Pëllumbi was born in Korçë and after the 90s, he ran in this constituency. The deceased completed his higher studies at the University of Petersburg and was awarded a Doctor of Science in Literature there.
From 1960 to 1963, he was a lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute in Korça and then practiced this profession until 1977. Since this year, the politician has been elected a member of the Steering Committee of the Labor Party, while for almost three years he was a lecturer at the University of Tirana.
The democratic changes in 1990 positioned Servet Pëllumbi in the position of vice president of the SP, a position he held until 1996.
He has led the campaign of the socialists to oppose the referendum on the Constitution and then the campaign for the release of Fatos Nano from prison.
He is known as one of the longest serving members of the Parliament of Albania, with active participation in various parliamentary committees.
