The president USR, Dominic Fritzsent before the consultations scheduled today at the Cotroceni Palace a call for political responsibility, emphasizing the importance of completing the contracts from the SAFE program.
According to him, Romania still has 33 days to conclude the contracts related to the program, and the negotiation team is close to completing the discussions.
“We still have 33 days in which Romania must conclude the contracts from the SAFE program. The negotiating team has moved very well and we are close to the finish line – we are talking about more than 16 billion euros for the defense of Romania and Europe.
This program does not only mean greater security and a long-awaited endowment of the Romanian Army. It also means thousands of new jobs and real opportunities for the Romanian industry”, declared the leader USR.
Dominic Fritz explained that the SAFE program is not only aimed at strengthening national security and equipping the Romanian Army, but also important economic benefits, such as the creation of thousands of jobs and new opportunities for Romanian industry.
In his message, he criticized possible political actions that could affect the ongoing negotiations.
“That’s why, today, in Cotroceni, I will once again ask for responsibility. The negotiations are not yet closed. We are not allowed to undermine our own team that works for Romania, neither with censure motions, nor with blockages in Parliament, nor with public attacks on the negotiators.
It’s the worst time for political games. SAFE is a patriotism program. The USR ministers will carry their mandate further, for the security of Romania and every Romanian citizen”, said Dominic Fritz.
