    Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held yesterday at Gudaibiya Palace.

    At the beginning of the meeting, the Council of Ministers affirmed that what His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, expressed in his speech to the media constitutes a framework guiding national action and a solid approach to guide it in preserving the interests of the nation and citizens, preserving national gains, and consolidating the foundations of security, stability and prosperity in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Council stressed that the government, with all its agencies, continues to work in a spirit of responsibility to implement the directives of His Majesty the King and meet his aspirations, in a way that achieves good and development for the nation and the citizen, and enhances the comprehensive development process in various sectors, stressing that protecting Bahrain’s security and stability represents a shared national responsibility in which there is no room for complacency.

    The Council also expressed its deep pride in the honorable national stance demonstrated by the honorable Bahraini and Gulf tribes and families through telegrams of support, loyalty, praise and praise for the contents of the speech that His Majesty the King directed to the media, expressing its thanks and appreciation for the support, loyalty and determination their messages and telegrams conveyed in defending the homeland and its interests.

    The Council also expressed its sincere thanks for the supportive stance and full solidarity expressed by brotherly and friendly countries and regional and international organizations with the Kingdom of Bahrain for all the steps and measures it takes to protect its security and preserve its sovereignty, supreme interests and national gains, and a categorical rejection of any practices that affect its sovereignty. The Council appreciated in this context the positions issued by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, and the Kingdom of Jordan. The Hashemite Republic of Egypt, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Yemen, the Lebanese Republic, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stressing the firm support these positions represent for the Kingdom of Bahrain in confronting challenges and preserving its security and stability.

    In light of the royal order issued by His Majesty the King of the country, extending the sixth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives Councils for a fifth session of one year, the Council affirmed the continuation of constructive cooperation with the legislative authority in order to achieve common national goals.

    The Council then referred to the sublime message sent by His Majesty the King of the country on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, and the praise it included for the pivotal role played by the Bahraini media in its various journalistic, radio and television sectors during the hostile Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries of the region.

    In this regard, and on the occasion of Bahraini Press Day, the Council expressed its pride in the prominent role played by national cadres in press and media institutions within the comprehensive development process.

    The Council then stressed the importance of the Gulf Consultative Summit of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was hosted by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain was headed by His Majesty the King of the country, praising its results in terms of enhancing cooperation and joint Gulf action in light of the events and developments taking place in the region.

    The Council also praised the results of the meeting of His Majesty the King of the country with his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, thankful for the generous hospitality and benefit of His Majesty’s visit to the United Arab Emirates.

    The Council also referred to the meeting between His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, thanking the fraternal visit made by His Highness to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan of generous hospitality and goodwill.

    The Council then referred to the importance of the decisions taken by the United Nations Security Council and the topics discussed under the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the Council during the month of April 2026, praising the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during this period.

    The Council of Ministers then followed up on the measures taken to deal with the repercussions of the sinful, hostile Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain.

    After that, the Council considered a number of memorandums submitted to it by ministerial committees and ministers and agreed to the following:

    1. Draft resolution on municipal councils.

    2. A draft resolution amending some provisions of the resolution establishing and forming the National Human Rights Committee.

    3. Draft resolution on diplomatic and consular missions.

    4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Council for the Development of International Trade Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

    5. The government’s response to a number of proposals willingly submitted by the House of Representatives and proposals for a law submitted by the Shura Council.

    The Council also reviewed the results of the “Fikra” government innovation competition in its seventh edition.

    The Council also reviewed a number of reports on:

    1. Results of participation in the Security Council high-level open discussion session on maritime security, and the high-level open discussion session on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

    2. Results of participation in the extraordinary session meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

    3. Results of participation in the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation in its eighteenth session.
