Still in the process of recovery, Kylian Mbappé remains on the sidelines of the group at Real Madrid and aims to miss the next match against Espanyol.
Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid forward, returned to work this Friday apart from the rest of his teammates, waiting for a possible recovery that will allow him to face Barcelona at the Camp Nou in two days’ time.
The French attacker suffers an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left leg and will not be able to face Espanyol this Sunday, in a match corresponding to the thirty-fourth day of LaLiga EA Sports.
He is completely ruled out and this Friday he was not able to exercise under the orders of Álvaro Arbeloa, although the white club maintains the hope that he will make it to the duel against Barcelona.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is in a similar circumstance. He has not played since March due to a muscle injury in the rectus femoris of his right quadriceps and, with more options than Mbappé, he is expected to arrive at the Camp Nou event. The Belgian has alternated training alone this week with time with the rest of his teammates. Little by little, he glimpses the light at the end of the tunnel.
For his part, Dani Carvajal, who raised doubts at the beginning of the week due to a blow to his right foot, worked inside the Real Madrid City facilities. If there are no surprises, he will be available to face Espanyol.
The other two injured, Arda Güler and Éder Militao, did not train with the rest of their teammates and are continuing their recovery processes, according to the official Real Madrid website.
