United States Secretary of State Marco Rubioreiterated on the afternoon of this Tuesday, May 5, that his country’s policy regarding the Venezuelan leader Diosdado Hair It has not been modified and remains current.
During a press conference at the White House on May 5, Rubio stressed that the United States Department of State continues to consider Cabello under the same categories previously established in its official records, where he is indicated for alleged links to illicit activities, including drug trafficking.
For Cabello, the United States Government offers a reward of 15 million dollars for his alleged links with narcoterrorism, especially with the Tren de Aragua and Clan del Golfo groups.
“The State Department continues to consider Diosdado Cabello as a terrorist actor and a drug trafficker, as indicated on our official website,” Rubio explained.
He added that “US policy on this issue has not changed and, when it changes, we will let you know.”
The official insisted that, for the moment, there are no new announcements or adjustments in Washington’s position on this case, emphasizing that any modification will be communicated in a timely manner.
Cabello is currently considered by the Venezuelan opposition as one of Delcy Rodríguez’s most important allies after the capture of Nicolás Maduro in the early hours of this January 3.
