The National Police, in coordination with the Armed Forces, maintained the interventions during the third day of the current curfew of the May 3 to 18from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
The restriction applies to Guayas, Manabí, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, El Oro, Pichincha, Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo and Sucumbíos. Also in La Maná, Las Naves, Echeandía and La Troncal.
In videos shared by the Police, they were observed patrols, searches and raids in different areas, in addition to arrests during restricted hours.
“We reinforce strategic operations during restricted hours, with the purpose of preventing criminal acts and protecting citizens,” said the Police.
In GuayasOperation IAD continues to be developed in Daule, Salitre and Pedro Carbo, with actions aimed at intervening and weakening criminal structures.
During the curfew, controls are applied to people and vehicles, with the aim of strengthening the territorial control and security.
On May 5, the Minister of the Interior, John Reimberg, reported that in the first two days more than 500 detainees for failing to comply with the measure.
