On April 24, on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a tribute was paid to the memory of the victims of the Genocide at the khachkar located in the Armenian Park in Warsaw, with the participation of the soldiers of the Warsaw Garrison Command.
In his speech, Ambassador Alexander Arzumanyan referred to the significance of the day, continued racial and ethnic intolerance in the 21st century, manifestations of hatred and new mass crimes committed on that basis, as well as the efforts made by Armenia to identify the signs of such crimes and provide early warning.
After that, an intercessory prayer was offered by the spiritual pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Poland, His Holiness Father Minas Abegha Hakhverdyan and the spiritual pastor of the Armenian Catholic Church in Poland, the Most Reverend Yuzef Naumowicz, which was followed by the laying of flowers ceremony.
Members of the Armenian-Polish parliamentary friendship group, leaders and representatives of Armenian community structures in Poland were also present at the commemorative event.
