Many people think that the visa obtained for China is also valid for Hong Kong. This is not the case. Hong Kong is a separate administrative district with its own immigration system. The visa-free regime with the PRC, which came into effect on June 1, 2025, does not apply to Hong Kong. Below we will tell you where to apply for a visa to Hong Kong, what documents to collect, how to fill out the application form and how much it will cost.
Do Uzbeks need a visa to go to Hong Kong?
Yes, citizens of Uzbekistan require a visa to enter Hong Kong, which is specified in the regulations of the Hong Kong Immigration Department. Citizens of Uzbekistan are required to obtain a visa to the list of countries enters.
Here are three important points to understand that people often get confused about.
- Hong Kong has a separate immigration system and is not subject to the Chinese visa regime. Although it is part of the PRC, the entry rules are different.
- A visa to China does not grant entry to Hong Kong.
- The visa-free agreement between Uzbekistan and China, which came into effect on June 1, 2025, does not apply to Hong Kong and Macau.
- Electronic visa (e-visa) to Hong Kong is not provided for citizens of Uzbekistan – documents are submitted personally through the visa center in Tashkent.

What documents are required?
A set of documents is required to obtain a visa to Hong Kong. Even if there is not one, the application will not be accepted.
Required documents:
- passport for going abroad (expiration is not less than 6 months);
- 2 photos of 4×5 cm on a light background;
- completed questionnaire;
- return air ticket;
- hotel reservation for the entire trip;
- a copy of the passport for departure abroad (page with a photo);
- Copy of ID card or domestic passport.
The dates and information in the documents must match. In addition, a letter of invitation from the host company and documents confirming participation in the event are required for the business trip.
How to apply for a visa?
Visa documents are in Tashkent Visa for China Application Service Center accepted through The center receives the documents and sends them to the embassy, which makes a decision. Online application (e-visa) is not provided for citizens of Uzbekistan, so the application is submitted in person.

The visa center is open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00. Applications are not accepted on Chinese public holidays.
How to fill out the questionnaire?
Form ID 1003A — the main document. It is checked first: any error or inconsistency with other documents will lead to the return of the application. It is filled in with capital letters in the Latin alphabet, without abbreviations, strictly based on the information in the passport of departure abroad. It consists of 5 pages and several sections.
Block 1 — Personal Particulars
Surname and first name must match exactly as they are written in the passport in the Latin alphabet. If ABDULLAYEV is written in the passport – it is not possible to write ABDULLAYEV. This is considered an error and is grounds for returning the documents.
You will also provide the following: date of birth (in MM/MM/YYYY format), place of birth, gender, marital status, passport number, date of issue and expiration date, current address, and contact information. The photo is pasted in the designated place with a size of 50×40 mm.
Block 2 — Employment and income
Current place of employment, name and address of employer, position, monthly income. This block is necessary to assess the financial situation, it is mandatory to fill it.
If you do not work, write “unemployed”. Students write “student” and indicate the place of study.
Block 3 — Details of Proposed Stay
Important block: here the data from the questionnaire and the tickets are compared.
The following will be displayed:
- entry date
- duration of stay
- type of visit (usually single entry)
- Residential address in Hong Kong
- information about air tickets
The dates must match the dates on the tickets.
Block 4 — Purpose of Visit
One option is selected:
- tourism (leisure visit)
- transit
- business trip
- to see relatives
- your own option

Block 5 — Additional information
Only filled in if there is a sponsor, invitation or relatives in Hong Kong. If you are traveling independently, write No sponsor, self-funded trip.
Block 6 — Declaration and signature
You confirm the accuracy of the information, date and sign it. The form will not be accepted without a signature – this is a strict requirement.
How much time and money does a visa take?
Application processing time is usually 4-7 working days. In some cases, the period may be extended.

It is recommended to submit the application early, taking into account the time it takes to collect documents and correct possible errors.
In what cases will the application be rejected?
Most rejections are for official reasons and can be resolved before you apply:
- dates do not match – the entry date on the form does not match the date on the air ticket. Even a one-day difference is grounds for rejection
- error in writing the name and surname – the name or surname is written differently than in the passport
- documents are incomplete – even one of the required documents is missing
- no signature — the form is not signed or dated
- the address does not match – the hotel address in the form does not match the reservation
Once the deficiencies are corrected, the application will be resubmitted. The main thing is to check everything before going to the visa center.
