Within the first phase of the strategic project

The start of the harvesting process for the first experimental agricultural season in Adrar, May 4, 2026.
The barley crop campaign was launched today, Monday, May 4, in Adrar, across the agricultural perimeter of the Algerian-Qatari integrated project “Baladna”, in the territory of the Tamset municipality in the south of the state. This strategic project is an important base in achieving self-sufficiency and enhancing food security in Algeria.
According to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency, the operation, which is the first harvest of the first experimental agricultural season, touched an area estimated at 300 hectares under pivot spraying, and it is the process that falls within the first phase of the project, which includes cultivating areas for fodder production.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Baladna Algeria” Company, Ali Al-Ali, indicated that the implementation of the project is taking place through three stages, including grain cultivation, fodder production, cow breeding, and the industrial part of the production of powdered milk, as this project holds promising prospects for Algeria in this field, according to the spokesman.
For his part, the governor of Adrar state, Dhouifi Fadil, confirmed the mobilization of various concerned bodies to accompany and make the operation a success by harnessing harvesting machines and trucks to transport the crop to the warehouses.
