The Greenland Police, in collaboration with the fire service, have carried out a SAR operation at Tasiilaq.
The night of Monday at At 00:37 the Greenland Police received a report from an anxious family member of a 17-year-old boy.
The 17-year-old was en route on a dog sled from Tasiilaq to a nearby settlement, and the family member was worried about the boy.
Warden Aqqalu Petersen tells Sermitsiaq that shortly after the report, the police decided to launch a SAR operation based on the circumstances of the case.
A few hours later, the police, in cooperation with the local fire department, reached the 17-year-old using snowmobiles, and the 17-year-old was brought back to Tasiilaq.
– He is now safe and sound, says Aqqalu Petersen.
