Ulaanbaatar,
April 17, 2026 /MONTSAME/. On April 16, Prime Minister Uchral Nyam-Osor met
with Mongolia’s newly appointed ambassadors to foreign countries.
Minister of
Foreign Affairs Battsetseg Batmunkh and 14 newly appointed ambassadors attended
the meeting. Over the past three months, the ambassadors completed their preparations,
met with government members and representatives of major national producers and
worked in rural areas.
During
the meeting, Prime Minister Uchral emphasized that the Government of Mongolia
is pursuing a liberal policy, prioritizing the expansion of trade, the economy
and investment; the development of a green economy and renewable energy sources;
and the attraction of foreign banks. He also instructed the ambassadors to
focus on improving foreign policy mechanisms and approaches in light of growing
geopolitical tensions, increasing conflicts and confrontations, and deepening
divisions between states.
He
stressed the importance of anticipating major changes and risks in host countries,
regions, and globally, and of promptly defining positions that align with
Mongolia’s national interests. In particular, he urged them to closely monitor
developments in sectors such as outer space, artificial intelligence, and rare
earth minerals, and to actively work toward achieving tangible progress in
cooperation.
He
further tasked the ambassadors with successfully advancing their key mission of
building a “strong Mongolian passport.”
