Mining company Critical Minerals Corp has bought a share of 60° North Greenland.
The company 60° North Greenlandwhich is based in Qaqortoq, states that the Australian-American resource company Critical Metals Corp. has bought a share of the company.
In connection with the transaction, the previous owner Rasmus Christian Rasmussen will step down from the ownership circle, but he will continue in a consulting role and as chairman of the board.
Malik Vahl Rasmussen continues as managing director.
60° North Greenland states that the agreement strengthens the basis for further growth, and the collaboration with Critical Metals Corp. is about exploration services, mine development at Tanbreez as well as future mining operations at Tanbreez.
According to the company, there could be up to 200 jobs. In 2025, 60° North Greenland had 69 employees in the high season.
Will work for local development
Director Malik Vahl Rasmussen sees great prospects in the development of the raw materials sector on the basis of the deal:
– This agreement is not only about growth in our company – it is about the direction of Greenland.
– We are in the middle of a development where the raw materials sector can become a strong supplement to the existing businesses and thus a fourth leg of the Greenlandic economy, says director of 60° North Greenland, Malik Vahl Rasmussen.
He says that it is important that the development takes place with a strong local anchoring:
– We want to help ensure that the value creation, skills and jobs remain in Greenland to the greatest extent possible – and that at the same time we build an organization that can function as a platform for education, training and long-term development of the Greenlandic workforce, says the director.
The deal is subject to various authority approvals and is expected to be completed when they are available.
