James Comey, the former director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), says he is still innocent of the charges that the US government is now bringing against him and is still unafraid after the US authorities charged Comey for the second time, this time for allegedly making death threats against the president.
“I’m still innocent, I’m still not afraid, and I still believe in an independent judiciary, so let’s just wade,” Comey said in video statement on the social media Substack entitled “Shells”.
The accusation against Comey stems from an Instagram post that the 65-year-old Comey published last May, in which the numbers “86 47” could be seen written in shells – numbers that Trump has since interpreted as a death threat against him, since the imagery can be interpreted as a call to “remove” Trump, who is the 47th president of the United States.
