The visitors came to win
The fact that the people of Banja Luka arrived at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium to confirm the title was already visible in the first ten minutes when they had complete possession and control of the game on the field. Hrelj was the first to threaten in the 9th minute, and it was dangerous in front of Sarajevo’s goal two minutes later when Paskval sent the ball past the post from close range.
Sarajevo retaliated with Maruža’s chances after a corner in the 17th minute and then in the 25th minute with a brave but not accurate enough long-range shot by Elezija.
Juričić’s 25th goal of the season
In the 31st minute, the defender of the home team, Kuprešak, brought down Savić in the penalty area, and the referee Tomić immediately pointed to the penalty spot.
Juričić was a reliable penalty taker, with this his 25th goal this season. It has been clear for a long time that the striker Borca will be the best scorer in the BH league, since his closest followers Stanić and Bilbija have not yet entered the zone of double-digit goals (both have nine).
The second half did not bring significant changes and both teams had several chances. Sarajevo was trying to find a way to equalize, while Borac kept the goal advantage with a patient game without many risks and waited for the right opportunity. In the 60th minute, Ogrinec could have doubled the advantage of Borc, but his shot was stopped by the post.
Red card for Carlos
Marija Cvitanović’s team was left with one player less in the 70th minute, as defender Žao Karlos used his elbow in a duel with Pasval and was awarded a red card. Paskval also received a yellow card for pushing with Karlos, and since it is his third accumulated, he will miss the next duel that Borac will play in Široki Brijeg on May 9.
The fighter managed to keep the lead until the end and repeat the 2010/2011, 2020/2021 and 2023/2024 seasons. when he was lifting the championship cup.
