Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration reported that the water outage in Beykoz due to weather and pressure imbalances has ended.
In the statement made on İSKİ’s social media account, “As a result of the work carried out by our administration teams, the temporary water outage caused by weather and pressure imbalance in Beykoz district has completely ended, and water supply has been restored to all our neighborhoods throughout the district.” statements were included.
STATEMENT FROM IMM ABOUT THE PROCESS
In the information made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, technical details regarding the background of the outage were shared.
In the statement, it was stated that the main transmission line feeding the Kavacık region was temporarily disabled within the scope of the maintenance and repair works carried out at Elmalı Pumping Station and Elmalı Purification Depot. It was stated that in this process, water supply was provided with an alternative line via Çavuşbaşı Water Tank.
It was reported that after the completion of the works, a mandatory water outage was implemented between 12:00 on April 29 and 05:00 on April 30 due to technical malfunctions that occurred in the maneuver room. It was noted that a 200 millimeter diameter pipe failure occurred in the drinking water line while reintroducing water to the system after the faults were eliminated.
While it was stated that this malfunction was resolved with an additional outage between 12.00-16.00 on May 2, it was stated that the air and pressure imbalances that occurred after the line was re-commissioned caused temporary water outages, especially in the upper parts of Incirköy, Soğuksu and Gümüşsuyu neighbourhoods.
Authorities emphasized that the process was followed meticulously and the teams worked in the field uninterruptedly to ensure that the system operates at full capacity again.
