The Czech company Škoda Group announced that it has signed an agreement to supply 10 modern electric trains to Uzbekistan.

Company message According to the report, the agreement was signed in the presence of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrey Babish at the residence of Koksaroy in Tashkent. The cost of the project is 120 million euros.
According to Petr Novotny, CEO of Škoda Group, the project is the result of long-term cooperation between the government of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Railways and the company. The company brings modern technologies to Uzbekistan and offers modern solutions for efficient transportation.
Within the framework of the agreement, 10 regional electric trains of 1520 mm track, developed on the basis of platforms tested in Latvia and Estonia, will be supplied to Uzbekistan. The company stated that these trains will have high reliability, comfort and energy efficiency.
Within the framework of the project, a joint venture will be established for service, technical support and localization. It is also planned to open the Škoda Academy to train local specialists, and in the future to establish a system of independent service for trains.
