The Republican chairmen of the US Senate and House Armed Services Committees made a joint written statement.
In a joint statement signed by US Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, “The decision to withdraw the US brigade from Germany makes us extremely concerned.” expressions were used.
“RISK OF SENDING WRONG SIGNAL TO RUSSIA”
In the statement, it was stated that Germany had taken steps that responded positively to President Donald Trump’s call for more burden sharing, and that reducing the US presence in Europe carried the risk of weakening deterrence and sending the wrong signal to Russia.
It was stated in the statement that it was in the USA’s interest to provide a strong deterrent force in Europe by moving its troops to the east instead of withdrawing from Germany, and it was argued that this would strengthen NATO’s front line and prevent much more costly conflicts.
The statement also stated that any significant change in the way the US military deploys in Europe is a process that requires close coordination with the US Congress and its allies.

MERZ’S STATEMENTS AND TRUMP’S REACTION
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that he did not believe that the USA could end the war in Iran quickly and that the USA was not involved in the negotiations. “It doesn’t really have a convincing strategy.” he said.
Reacting to Merz’s statements, Trump stated that his country was considering the possibility of reducing the number of military units stationed in Germany.
In the statement made yesterday by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), it was reported that approximately 5 thousand soldiers stationed in Germany will be withdrawn within 6 to 12 months.
