On an exceptional evening in which fashion turned into a language of memory and a living narrative of identity, the “Mirror” platform presented one of its most prominent cultural events entitled “Crown with Legacy: From Peaks of Cedar to Horizons of Pearls,” in a creative experience that brought together two profound symbols of heritage: the Lebanese tantoor and the Gulf pearl, within a contemporary dialogue that redefines the meaning of legacy, and establishes a living cultural bridge between… Lebanon andThe UAE.
This event was held under the auspices and support of an Emirati cultural environment that embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, who made culture and humanity an essential pillar in building bridges between peoples, and consolidating the values of convergence, understanding, and preserving heritage.
The show was an integrated sensory journey, not a traditional fashion show, where scenography intertwined with symbolism and craftsmanship, inviting attendees into a world where identity becomes a memory that is told, not an adornment that is worn – a world in which the mountain meets the sea, and two stories shake hands: one that rose above the heads, and another that was born in the depths.
At the heart of this scene, designer Joe Shalita, keeper of the memory of Lebanese fashion, shone, presenting a contemporary reading of heritage, where fashion turns into a living archive of identity, and into a cultural discourse that reconnects the past with the present without losing its depth or sincerity.
Shalita said: “For me, fashion is a visual memory. Lebanese elegance existed before fashion became an industry, and it deserves to be included in the global design heritage. Fashion is the most intimate form of narrative, and my mission is to preserve this heritage and share it with the world.”
This vision was completed with Alfardan Jewellery, which added, through pearls, a deep symbolic dimension, so that the encounter between tantoor and pearls became an expression of a dialogue between land and sea, and the unity of meaning despite the difference in roots.
For her part, Ms. Hanadi Al-Solh, head of the “Mirrah” platform, said:
“Mirror is a cultural platform concerned with rereading heritage through art, memory, and people. We do not bring together two cultures to display them, but rather to reveal the common space between them, the one that is built on memory, people, and meaning. Between Lebanon and the Emirates, there is something deeper than geography – there is a story that is told when we give it one voice.”

She added that this event embodies the message of “Mirror” based on transforming culture into a living meeting space, where heritage is not presented as a static image, but rather as an ongoing responsibility to revive and reread it.
The event witnessed a prominent diplomatic and cultural presence, presented by the Lebanese Ambassador, along with a number of ambassadors, cultural and media figures, and creative people, reflecting the importance of cultural events in promoting dialogue between peoples and consolidating the values of human exchange.
Through this event, which is one of its many cultural events, Miraat confirms its role as a platform that redefines heritage as a living space of meeting, and transforms culture into an extended bridge between societies, restoring its presence to memory and its contemporary extension to meaning.
