The closing of the stage of submission of documents and selection of candidates for DP president on May 23, has also brought reactions from politicians, analysts and even disqualified candidates.
One of them was Evi Kokalari.
The Albanian-American activist reacted through a post on Facebook, as she publicly challenged Sali Berisha for a court battle.
She was excluded from the race with the argument that she is not a member of the party.
In a post on Facebook, Kokalari a document where, alongside democratic deputies such as Albana Vokshi and Flamur Noka, she is one of the members of the DP who participated in the Assembly of the Democratic Party in December 2021 (main photo, Kokalari’s participation in the DP Assembly, near Berisha, Noka and Vokshi).
With this document, Kokalari states that she will “turn to the court”, where she will demand her right, which she claims has been denied.
“See you in court, Sali Berisha!”, writes Kokalari.
Kokalari claims to be a member of the Democratic Party, having participated in the Assembly organized by “Re-establishment” in 2021. Although the DP headquarters did not accept the application file, Kokalari sent it electronically.
The other disqualified candidate, Mereme Sela, has warned of a court appearance, while Ervin Salianji has declared that he will complain to the internationals and the EPP.
