Following a successful six-day diplomatic mission (April 22–27), the new sustainability initiative “Pristine Earth” has officially launched in Palau. This week-long visit allowed international ambassadors to witness firsthand the power of the “Palau Model,” demonstrating its potential to be exported as a premier global solution for regenerative travel.
The launch ceremony, held on April 23, was attended by distinguished VIPs, including Bilung Gloria Salii, Koror State Governor Eyos Rudimch, CEO of the Palau Conservation Society Elbuchel Sadang, Delegate Nace N. Soalablai, and Senator Secilil Eldebechel, alongside Ambassador of Tuvalu H.E. Lily Tangisia Faavae, Ambassador of the Marshall Islands H.E. From “Giant” to “Traveler”: An Actionable Guide by Awakened Giants for New Giants Inspired by the world-renowned Palau Pledge and its award-winning film, The Giant, which compared destructive tourists to a clumsy giant, Pristine Earth transforms this sentiment into a concrete “Regenerative Tourism Platform.” President Pai Lee explained that the association has designed six engaging missions—such as blue carbon mangrove conservation and giant clam restoration—where travelers collect stamps to earn a “Sustainable Traveler Certification,” unlocking exclusive ecological experiences.
The core philosophy is a profound tribute to the Palau Pledge. “The heart of the Pledge lies in the touching plea from Palauan children to the visiting Giants,” President Pai noted. “Pristine Earth takes this a step further. Youth Empowerment: Abby Hayashi Koo Appointed Youth Commission Executive To implement this “Giants guiding Giants” dialogue, President Pai Lee officially appointed Abby Hayashi Koo as the Youth Commission Executive. Her involvement follows her participation in an experimental sustainable tour organized by Pristine Earth Director Palauan Tour.
