Part of the meeting.
Today, Thursday, April 30, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a government meeting devoted to studying a number of files.
According to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency, the government studied, at the beginning of its session, the draft executive decree that specifies the modalities for applying the general rules related to public procurement, and concluded by completing the study of the draft text, which “serves as the basic tributary that contributes to leading the country’s economic and social development processes.”
It aims to “clarify the practical methods associated with controlling public funds and their proper management within the framework of enshrining the principles of freedom to obtain public requests, equality in dealing with candidates, and transparency of procedures.”
The government also studied the draft national strategy for cancer prevention and control, Horizons 2035, before submitting it for approval by the Council of Ministers.
It is a document that was prepared by the National Committee for Cancer Prevention and Control, placed under the authority of the President of the Republic, on the basis of the recommendations of the national sessions organized in May 2025.
The necessary operational tools and measures to enhance cancer prevention and care are identified, and their implementation and evaluation are based on a data panel that includes all appropriate indicators, allowing the progress achieved to be evaluated and the shortcomings of the health system in the field of cancer care to be identified.
The government also listened to a presentation on taking care of referring patients abroad for treatment. The results recorded by the National Medical Committee and the steps achieved within the framework of the alternative national policy were highlighted.
The government considered that the results achieved in 2025 “indicate a positive dynamic towards enhanced health independence, characterized by reducing transfers abroad, developing the national supply of treatment and controlling health expenses.”
