Britain’s King Charles is himself an experienced beekeeper. The state visit begins on Monday with a visit to the White House.
First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has been at the head of the preparations for Britain’s King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to the United States.
This is what the White House writes in a press release.
The visit begins on Monday, when the royal couple will be received by President Donald Trump and his wife at the White House in Washington DC
Here, the presidential couple offers afternoon tea, before the presidential and royal couple have to inspect the beehives in the White House’s garden.
The visit to the garden comes just days after it was announced that Melania Trump has expanded the White House beekeeping operation with a new beehive.
The new hive is designed as a mini version of the White House.
The beehives are located on the South Lawn, which is a lawn immediately south of the White House.
King Charles is an experienced beekeeper himself. According to the news agency AP, he and Queen Camilla have at least three hives at Highgrove House, which is the royal couple’s private residence in Gloucestershire, England.
Queen Camilla is also patron of the charity Bees for Development, which focuses on the importance of bees for sustainable development.
The British royal couple’s state visit to the United States will take place from Monday to Thursday.
