Law 202 of 2020 required the meaning Organizing waste management; In Article 51, industrial facilities must submit to the General Authority for Industrial Development a detailed plan for the management of industrial waste generated or expected to be generated by the facility, in accordance with the controls issued by a decision of the competent minister in agreement with the Minister of Trade and Industry when submitting a declaration or requesting a license, in accordance with the provisions of the law facilitating procedures for granting licenses to industrial facilities issued by Law No. 15 of 2017.
The agency’s approval of the aforementioned detailed plan was required only for industrial facilities subject to the prior licensing system, in accordance with the provisions of the law facilitating procedures for granting licenses to industrial establishments referred to. In all cases, the General Authority for Industrial Development, in coordination with the agency, is responsible for following up on the industrial facilities’ implementation of that plan.
Article 52, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, established the Green Mark System to encourage manufacturers to increase the percentage of recyclable inputs and reduce the generation of industrial waste. The executive regulations of this law specify the requirements and specifications for products subject to this system, the requirements for obtaining a Green Mark certificate, and the model of this certificate.
