The United States Embassy in Caracas ratified this Tuesday its commitment to the three-phase plan announced by President Donald Trump and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, for the recovery of Venezuela, with the private sector as the main actor in the process, according to the diplomatic corps.
Through a message on its official account, the Embassy reported that chargé d’affaires John Barrett held his first meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce in Venezuela (VenAmCham), in which he confirmed that both American and Venezuelan companies “are ready to promote the economic recovery phase.”
“Moving forward with the three-phase plan of @POTUS (Trump) and @SecRubio (Rubio) means placing the private sector at the center of Venezuela’s transformation,” the diplomatic mission wrote on its social networks.
Barrett stressed that Washington’s priority is “a high-level business environment prepared for investment.”
This announcement comes amid the expectations generated by the new policy of the US administration towards Venezuela, which seeks to advance an economic transition through the reactivation of the private sector, attraction of foreign investment and the creation of favorable conditions for business.
The Embassy did not give specific details about the next stages of the plan or specific deadlines, but the tone of the message seeks to convey confidence and immediate willingness on the part of the binational business community to advance in the recovery phase.
